About the Composer: Jack Bullock

Jack Bullock

Jack Bullock brings decades of classroom experience and sophisticated arranging skill to beginning band literature. A doctoral-degree holder in music education, he spent 20 years teaching instrumental music in schools and seven additional years as an assistant band director at Ithaca College's School of Music, where he also chaired the Music Education Department. His performance background includes work with the Miami Philharmonic Orchestra and Miami Opera Company, plus extensive touring with dance and show bands.

With over 600 published compositions and arrangements across concert band, orchestra, jazz ensemble, and marching band, Bullock has established himself as a prolific voice in accessible ensemble writing. He co-authored the Belwin 21st Century Band Method and contributed arrangements to Music Expressions, Alfred Music's school curriculum series. An ASCAP member since 1980, he has conducted clinics and workshops throughout the United States, Canada, and England.
