About the Composer: Tyler S. Grant

Tyler S. Grant has built a reputation as a composer whose music appears regularly on honor ensemble concert programs and national repertoire lists. His work Panoramic Fanfare won the Dallas Wind Symphony's 2014 Call for Fanfares Competition and has since received performances across North America by both collegiate and professional groups. Since 2010, he has maintained a steady output of commissions and publications for bands and orchestras, while also serving as a clinician with over 100 school programs across 15 states.

Beyond the composer's chair, Grant conducts regularly and has led all-state ensembles in Nebraska, Oregon, Alabama, Louisiana, South Dakota, and North Dakota. His works have been heard at The Midwest Clinic, Carnegie Hall, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. He studied instrumental music education and conducting at the University of Alabama under Randall Coleman, and credits mentor Brian Balmages as crucial to his development as a composer.
