About the Composer: Gary Fagan

Gary Fagan

Gary Fagan brings three decades of classroom experience to his work as a composer and arranger. A Virginia educator who spent 36 years directing bands in Albemarle County, he has earned recognition including the Central Virginia Outstanding Middle School Teacher award and honors from the Virginia Governor's School for the Visual and Performing Arts. His compositions and arrangements have traveled far, performed at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, the White House, and at gubernatorial ceremonies.

Fagan holds degrees in Music Education from Bridgewater College and a master's degree from James Madison University, where he currently serves as a University Supervisor and has taught arranging as adjunct faculty. Active as a clinician, adjudicator, and percussionist with the Charlottesville Band, he maintains memberships in ASCAP, the National Band Association, and Phi Beta Mu Bandmasters Fraternity.
