Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht has shaped choral music education for over thirty years, first as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications at Alfred Music and continuing as a prolific composer with more than 600 choral works in print. Her expertise in choral movement and accessible writing has made her a sought-after clinician at festivals nationwide, including honor choir events at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center. Since 1987, she has received annual ASCAP Special Music Awards, cementing her influence on the repertoire singers encounter in rehearsal.

Albrecht holds degrees from Rollins College (B.A. in Music and Theater, 1976), the University of Miami (M.A. in Drama, 1977, and M.M. in Accompanying, 1979), and has taught in music departments at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. A recipient of distinguished alumni awards from both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College, she now resides in North Carolina with her husband and collaborator, composer and arranger Jay Althouse.
