About This Collection

Description

Classroom musicals and programs for elementary and middle school choirs span 417 titles, most designed to work with recorded accompaniments and choreography directions. Teachers return repeatedly to Andy Beck's Hawaiian Beach Party, Sally K. Albrecht's Jingle Bell Jukebox, and Jay Althouse's Jukebox Time Machine, all of which bundle teacher's handbooks with online audio and PDFs. The collection tilts heavily toward secular and children's music, with strong holiday programming (Christmas dominates at 179 titles), but also includes novelty numbers, multicultural works, and arrangements suited to unison through three-part mixed voicings.

Highlights

Andy Beck's Hawaiian Beach Party remains the most widely adopted title in the collection, followed closely by Sally K. Albrecht's Jingle Bell Jukebox and Jay Althouse's Jukebox Time Machine. Teachers also consistently choose Beck's A Very Patriotic Pageant! and Jill Gallina's Bada Bing, It's Spring!, both of which balance singability with stageable moments.

Recently added

Sally K. Albrecht has released Christmas Carol Quest in two formats (with and without online audio), Creepy Creatures, and A Small Part of the World within the past year. Mark Cabaniss contributed Tom Sawyer & Company as a SoundTrax digital download, and Albrecht's The Cuckoo arrived in December 2025.

Composer & Author Spotlight

Sally K. Albrecht is a choral composer and conductor whose work centers on movement and accessibility, earning her ASCAP Special Music Awards annually since 1987. With over 600 choral publications in print, she brings decades of festival and clinician experience to her writing. Her Jingle Bell Jukebox remains a perennial favorite among teachers seeking holiday material with choreographic appeal.

Andy Beck, Director of Choral Publications at Alfred Music, has written more than 450 choral works and children's musicals, including the widely used method books Sing at First Sight and Vocalize!. His music performs regularly in classrooms worldwide, and his Hawaiian Beach Party heads the bestseller list for good reason: it combines singable melody with staged fun.

Jay Althouse brings eight years of publishing administration experience and formal training in music education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania to his 800-plus compositions. His Jukebox Time Machine appeals to upper elementary and middle school teachers seeking period-song arrangements that engage students without requiring extensive staging resources.

Brian Fisher taught middle school for years before becoming a full-time composer, grounding his work in real classroom experience. His collaborations on Hawaiian Beach Party and similar titles reflect his understanding of what singers at this level can actually do.
