About This Collection
Description
Choral teachers and directors know that finding repertoire that engages singers and audiences alike takes time. This collection gathers the best-selling choral octavos that have proven themselves in rehearsal and performance. Andy Beck's Carry the Light and Northern Lights lead the way, alongside Robert T. Gibson's a cappella arrangements of Dance! and standout titles like Lovely Day and Time After Time. Whether you're building a concert program or restocking your octavo library, these titles represent what's working in choirs right now.
Highlights
Teachers keep coming back to Carry the Light and Northern Lights, both by Andy Beck, for their musicality and singability across ability levels. Robert T. Gibson's two versions of Dance! (2-part a cappella and SATB a cappella) remain popular choices for concert and contest repertoire. Bill Withers' Lovely Day and Rob Hyman's Time After Time round out the consistent performers in this collection.

Andy Beck directs choral publications at Alfred Music and has over 450 published choral works in print worldwide. His method books Sing at First Sight and Vocalize! have become staples in many studios, and his compositional voice shows up repeatedly on this bestseller list. Beck's gift for writing memorable melodies with solid vocal pedagogy built in explains why his music performs so well across different choir levels.

He has guest conducted at Lincoln Center, the National Cathedral, and Carnegie Hall, and his arrangements bring sophistication and musicianship to standard repertoire. His choral works are known for opening up opportunities for singers to shine.
Jay Althouse earned his music education degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and spent eight years working in rights and licensing before establishing himself as a prolific choral composer. Robert T. Gibson, a Houston native and conductor, has made a mark with compositions and arrangements that resonate with singers at middle school through collegiate levels. His music reflects his passion for developing the next generation of musicians, and his a cappella works have become particularly popular with competitive and concert choirs.
