About the Composer: JaRod Hall

JaRod Hall

JaRod Hall studied music education at the University of North Texas and earned a master's degree from Texas State University, where he worked with conducting faculty Dr. Nicholas Williams and Dr. Caroline Beatty. A tubist and trombonist with deep roots in Texas music education, Hall spent eight years as a band director and built a reputation for developing ensembles that consistently earned sweepstakes recognition at UIL evaluations; his 2018 non-varsity band at Griffin Middle School in Frisco became the first middle school ensemble in Frisco ISD history to receive the state's Citation of Excellence for non-varsity bands.

Hall's performing resume spans multiple ensembles including the North Texas Wind Symphony, the 3 O'Clock Lab Band, and Texas State Symphonic Winds, where he served as principal tuba for two years. A four-time Texas All-State Band member and former principal jazz bass trombonist at the state level, he also performed with the 2014 Disneyland All-American College Band and served as drum major for the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. His compositions appear on the Texas Prescribed Music List and Bandworld's Top 100, and his fanfare "Silver Fanfare" won the 2020 Dallas Winds Call for Fanfares competition.
