William Owens brings three decades of classroom experience to his compositional voice. A VanderCook College of Music graduate and former Texas band director, he has published over 300 works for young ensembles since 1993, earning recognition from the Texas Bandmasters Association and his alma mater as a Distinguished Alumnus. His pieces appear on required music lists across the country and have become standard repertoire for developing bands.

Owens balances his role as an accomplished clinician and conductor with a practical understanding of what young musicians can achieve. His commissions from regional colleges, national honor societies, and the American Bandmasters Association reflect the respect he commands in music education circles. He currently resides in Fort Worth, Texas.
