His compositions balance accessibility with genuine musicality, earning frequent performances at major festivals including the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, as well as stages throughout Europe and Japan.

Gassi holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario and completed advanced study in composition and arranging at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles before earning his Ph.D. from York University in Toronto. Beyond composing, he serves as a sought-after guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician, leading seminars on creative engagement and digital workflow strategies for music directors.
