About the Composer: Carol Kelley
Carol Kelley grew up in Oregon and has spent her entire musical life composing, arranging, and performing across multiple genres. She earned her BA in music education from George Fox University with concentrations in vocal performance, piano performance, and composition. Her work appears in catalogs from Alfred Music, Hal Leonard, and Broadman Press, and her experience teaching elementary and middle school music has shaped her understanding of what works in rehearsal and performance.
For more than 25 years, Kelley has been the accompanist for high school and middle school choirs and musicals in Newberg, Oregon, giving her intimate knowledge of what singers and pianists need from a score. She remains active as a pianist and vocalist on her church worship team, and she and her husband Dave are frequent visitors to Oregon's coastal landscapes, which continue to inspire her creative work.
