Timothy Loest

Timothy Loest has spent over thirty years in the middle school classroom, where direct experience with developing musicians shaped his philosophy of accessible, purposeful composition. His works appear regularly on network television and in concert halls across the country, yet his heart remains in the band room; he founded Fanfare Music Press in 2022 to ensure that young ensembles have access to music that challenges without overwhelming. In 2017, the Illinois Grade School Music Association honored him with the Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education, recognition of his impact on pedagogy and performance at the state and national levels.

Loest's method books, including Measures of Success and the Warm-ups and Beyond series, have become fixtures in countless programs.
