About the Composer: Sally K. Albrecht
Sally K. Albrecht brings three decades of expertise in choral publishing and pedagogy to her compositions. As Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications for Alfred Music, she shaped the landscape of accessible choral literature while maintaining an active presence as a conductor and clinician at festivals nationwide, including venues at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center. Her contributions have earned her consecutive ASCAP Special Music Awards since 1987, and her catalog includes more than 600 published choral works alongside 75 full-length musicals and songbooks.
Albrecht's training spans both music and theater. She earned a B.A. in Music and Theater from Rollins College in 1976, then completed an M.A. in Drama and an M.M. in Accompanying from the University of Miami. Her interdisciplinary background informs her signature approach to choral movement and staging. She has taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College, and in 2021 received Distinguished Alumna Awards from both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College.
