About the Composer: Scott Watson
Scott Watson has shaped music education across three decades, first as Director of Bands and then as coordinator of elementary band and strings in the Parkland School District near Allentown, Pennsylvania. His work in the classroom informed a prolific composing career; he has written more than 120 pieces for concert band, string orchestra, and chamber ensembles, performed at venues including the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Midwest Clinic, and the White House.
Now Associate Professor of Music at Cairn University in Pennsylvania, Watson continues to compose and clinician for music educators nationwide. His distinct voice draws equally from contemporary concert music and the practical realities of the rehearsal room. He serves as exclusive composer and clinician for Alfred Publications and authored Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity, published by Oxford University Press.
