Gayle Kowalchyk

Gayle Kowalchyk holds degrees in piano performance from Ohio University and Northwestern University, plus an Ed.D. in piano pedagogy from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has taught class piano and piano pedagogy at California State University, Northridge, Eastern Illinois University, Oklahoma Baptist University, and the University of Oklahoma, and served as a clinician and adjudicator for major music education organizations including MTNA, MENC, and the World Piano Pedagogy Conference.

Kowalchyk is best known for her collaborative work with her husband, Dr. E. L. Lancaster, developing over 300 educational piano publications, including Alfred's Premier Piano Course and Music for Little Mozarts. She continues to teach and serve as a clinician for Alfred Music in the Los Angeles area.
