About the Composer: JaRod Hall
JaRod Hall is a Texas-based composer and educator with deep roots in ensemble performance and conducting. He earned degrees in music education from the University of North Texas and composition from Texas State University, studying conducting with Dr. Nicholas Williams and Dr. Caroline Beatty, and composition with Dr. Michael Ippolito and Dr. Jack Wilds. As a performing musician, he has been a principal tuba player with the Texas State Wind Symphony and appears as a four-time Texas All-State Band member.
Hall's eight years directing concert bands in Texas schools resulted in consistent recognition at the state level, including leading a middle school ensemble to the Citation of Excellence in 2018. His compositions have earned selection on the Texas Prescribed Music List, J.W. Pepper's "Editor's Choice" list, and the Bandworld Top 100. His original brass choir "Silver Fanfare" won the 2020 Dallas Winds Call for Fanfares, and "Through the Storm" received the 2021 Barbara Buehlman Prize for middle school band.
