About the Composer: Roland Barrett

Roland Barrett has shaped multiple generations of student musicians through his dual roles as educator and composer. Since joining the University of Oklahoma's composition and music theory faculty in 2001, he has taught undergraduate and graduate courses while maintaining an active publication schedule that includes over two hundred works for symphonic band, chamber groups, and marching ensembles.

Barrett's compositions and arrangements have earned performances by the Dallas Wind Symphony, countless All-State and All-Region honor bands, and national recognition through broadcasts on NPR and cable television. His work has appeared at the Midwest Band & Orchestra Convention, the International Trumpet Guild convention, and other prestigious venues. A multiple recipient of the ASCAP Plus award, Barrett continues to arrange for the University of Oklahoma's marching band while remaining one of the most performed composers in the young band repertoire.
