• Anchor one finger at a time. Have students plant their index finger, then add the middle, then the ring. This prevents the "all fingers at once" scramble that kills accuracy.
• Record yourself playing the strum patterns at tempo before rehearsal. Students will internalize the rhythm far faster by hearing the actual groove than by counting.
• Slow the tempo down for the first week with a new strum pattern, even if the book suggests a faster one. Clean strokes matter more than speed at this stage.
