Dennis Alexander

Dennis Alexander has shaped music education for decades through his work with Alfred Music Publishing, beginning in 1986. With over 400 publications to his name, he established himself as one of the most widely performed composers of educational piano repertoire across all student levels. He held a faculty position at the University of Montana for 24 years, teaching piano pedagogy and serving as department chair, before continuing his work in California at Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge. Alexander maintains active performance and composing schedules while based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Beyond the studio, Alexander has built a career as a clinician, collaborative artist, and touring recitalist. He performed his Carnegie Recital Hall debut in 1987 and has worked extensively with chamber groups and internationally recognized soloists.
