About the Composer: Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht has shaped American choral music for over three decades, first as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications at Alfred Music, then as a prolific composer and clinician. She has accumulated more than 600 choral publications, numerous full-length musicals and songbooks, and an uninterrupted string of ASCAP Special Music Awards dating to 1987. Her work reflects deep understanding of what student singers can achieve, grounded in her experience conducting honor choirs at venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center.

Albrecht holds degrees from Rollins College (B.A. in Music and Theater, 1976) and the University of Miami (M.A. in Drama, 1979; M.M. in Accompanying, 1979). She has taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. In recognition of her sustained contributions to music education and leadership, she received the Distinguished Alumna Award from both Rollins College and the University of Miami Frost School of Music in 2021, and previously served as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society.
