About the Composer: Roland Barrett

Roland Barrett has been composing and arranging for wind ensembles since the early 1990s, building a catalog of over two hundred published works. He joined the University of Oklahoma's composition and music theory faculty in 2001, where he teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in 20th century music alongside his continuing work as arranger for the Pride of Oklahoma marching band.

Barrett's compositions have earned recognition from the Dallas Wind Symphony, All-State and All-Region honor bands across the country, and performance on National Public Radio and major conference stages including the Midwest Band & Orchestra Convention and the International Trumpet Guild. A multiple recipient of the ASCAPlus award, he brings both classroom experience and professional credentials to his writing for beginning ensembles.
