About the Arranger: Michael Kamuf

Michael Kamuf earned degrees in Jazz Performance and Music Education from Youngstown State University's Dana School of Music, followed by a Master of Arts in Instrumental Conducting from George Mason University. His arrangements and compositions have been recorded by prestigious ensembles including the Woody Herman Orchestra, Glenn Miller Orchestra, USAF Airmen of Note, and US Navy Commodores, as well as soloists like James Moody, Eddie Daniels, and Sean Jones.

Kamuf spent thirty years teaching instrumental music in Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland, including twenty-seven years as Director of Bands and Orchestras at John T. Baker Middle School, where he built programs that consistently earned festival recognition and commissioned new works for young ensembles. An exclusive writer for Belwin/Alfred Music with over 100 publications in print, he leads the Mike Kamuf Little Big Band in the Baltimore and Washington, DC area and has performed with both the Woody Herman and Tommy Dorsey Orchestras.
