About the Composer: Scott Watson

Scott Watson spent 35 years in the Parkland School District near Allentown, Pennsylvania, first directing the high school bands and later overseeing the elementary band and strings programs across the district. He now serves as Associate Professor of Music at Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and continues to shape music education through his published works and clinician work.

Watson's catalog includes more than 120 pieces for concert band, string orchestra, and chamber ensembles spanning all levels. His compositional voice draws from both contemporary concert art music and his deep roots in the band world, a combination that has earned him frequent commissions and performances at venues including the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, and the White House. He is an exclusive composer and clinician for Alfred Publications and authored the music education text Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity (Oxford University Press, 2011).
