Violins and violas are required to use low 2nd fingers. 1st violins use high 3rds, while violas need to play low firsts for D-sharps. About the Composer: Loreta Fin

Loreta Fin trained at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and began her career as a first violinist with the Sydney Youth Orchestra. For more than 25 years, she has served as Principal Viola player with the Queensland Pops Orchestra while maintaining an active schedule as a chamber and orchestral performer, collaborating with internationally recognized artists.

Fin has shaped string education as Director of Strings at Somerville House School in Brisbane since 1993, and her work as an adjudicator and conference presenter spans major Australian competitions and two American National String Teachers' Conferences. She has composed over 100 works for string orchestra published worldwide by Alfred Music, and her leadership in the Australian Strings Association (serving as both State and National President) earned her a Queensland State Award in 2009. In recent years, she has conducted the State and National Honours Ensembles Programs and received the National Award for Services to Music and String Teaching in Australia.
