About the Composer: Robert Sheldon
Robert Sheldon stands among the most frequently performed composers writing for wind band today. His works appear consistently on contest and concert programs worldwide, and ensembles across the globe champion his music. He co-authored Sound Innovations for Concert Band and has received major recognition from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and ASCAP.
Sheldon maintains an active schedule as a guest conductor for all-state and regional honor bands, and he regularly clinics at universities and state music education conferences. He has conducted performances at Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and the Kennedy Center. His extensive international work has taken him to Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, and China. VanderCook College of Music awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2020.
