Carl Strommen ranks among the most widely performed composer/arrangers in contemporary music, with works regularly featured in concert halls, on television, and in film across North America and internationally. His output spans band, orchestra, jazz ensemble, and vocal music, and his consistent excellence has earned him the annual ASCAP Standard Writers Award throughout his career.

A graduate of City College of New York, Strommen has maintained deep ties to music education, serving as an adjunct professor of orchestration and composition at C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. He remains an active clinician and commission writer, and divides his time between Long Island and Colorado.
