Gerald Sebesky studied composition and theory at the Manhattan School of Music, where he earned both his B.M. and M.M. degrees, and continued his advanced work at Columbia University and Kean University. He has built a career as a composer, conductor, and educator across public schools, universities, and concert stages throughout the United States, Canada, and England. His catalog exceeds 350 published works for concert band, stage band, orchestra, and chorus, and his contributions to music have been recognized with a fellowship from the New Jersey Council of the Arts. He has also worked in film, composing excerpt music for the motion picture Waiting for the Light in 1991.
