About the Composer: Gordon Goodwin

Gordon Goodwin began composing at five years old, writing complete pieces rather than fragments. By thirteen, he had already completed his first big band chart, Hang Loose. His trajectory from prodigy to industry professional is marked by three Emmy Awards, multiple Grammy nominations, and orchestrations for films including Bad Boys II, Con Air, Remember the Titans, and Star Trek: Nemesis.

Goodwin has written for and performed alongside Christina Aguilera, Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, and numerous other artists across multiple genres. He has conducted major orchestras in Atlanta, Dallas, Utah, Seattle, Toronto, and London. Since 2000, he has led Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, a Los Angeles-based ensemble that released the groundbreaking Swingin' for the Fences (the first commercially available DVD audio title) and XXL, each earning Grammy recognition.
