About the Composer: Peter Erskine

Peter Erskine began playing drums at age 4 and has built a career defined by musical curiosity and versatility. He has appeared on over 700 recordings and film scores, collaborated with everyone from Weather Report and Steely Dan to Chick Corea and Pat Metheny, and performed as a soloist with major orchestras across Europe and North America. For more than two decades he taught at the University of Southern California and was honored with an honorary Doctor of Music from Berklee College of Music.

Eskine's drumming has earned him two Grammy Awards and nine additional nominations, as well as induction into the Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame in 2022. His work spans jazz ensembles, big bands, vocal accompaniment, and orchestral settings, reflecting a musician equally comfortable in any context.
