About the Composer: JaRod Hall

JaRod Hall is a Texas-based composer and educator who shaped his craft through studies in music education at the University of North Texas and advanced composition and conducting training at Texas State University. His formative mentors span performance (Don Little on tuba) and conducting (Dr. Nicholas Williams and Dr. Caroline Beatty), creating a foundation that bridges ensemble leadership with compositional depth.

As a band director for eight years, Hall built programs that achieved consistent sweepstakes recognition at state evaluations, including a landmark 2018 achievement when his non-varsity band at Griffin Middle School became the first in Frisco ISD to earn a Citation of Excellence. Beyond the podium, he has performed as principal tuba with Texas State Wind Symphony and appeared as a four-time Texas All-State Band member, drumline member with the 2014 Disneyland All-American College Band, and competitive performer with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. His compositions have earned selection on the Texas Prescribed Music List, J.W. Pepper's Editor's Choice recognition, and the 2021 Barbara Buehlman Prize.
