About the Composer: Robert Sheldon

Robert Sheldon stands among the most frequently performed composers in wind band repertoire today. His works appear on state and national contest lists worldwide, and his music has been performed at Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Sydney Opera House. Beyond composition, Sheldon co-authored Sound Innovations for Concert Band and maintains an active schedule as a guest conductor for All-State and Regional Honor Bands across the United States, Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, and China.

Recognized with honors from the American School Band Directors Association, Phi Beta Mu, and ASCAP, Sheldon continues to accept commissions and release new concert band works annually. He regularly presents clinics and seminars at colleges, universities, and state music education conferences, bringing his educational expertise directly to directors and students. In 2020, VanderCook College of Music bestowed upon him an honorary doctorate in recognition of his contributions to music education and composition.
