About the Composer: Sally K. Albrecht
Sally K. Albrecht has spent over three decades shaping choral music education as a composer, conductor, and clinician with a particular gift for movement integration. Since 1987, she has earned annual ASCAP Special Music Awards and brought more than 600 choral works into print, along with 75 larger songbooks and musicals. Her conducting credits include honor choirs at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center, and she previously served as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications for major educational publishers, including most recently Alfred Music.
Albrecht earned her B.A. in Music and Theater from Rollins College (1976) and completed both an M.A. in Drama and M.M. in Accompanying at the University of Miami. She has taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. In 2021, she received Distinguished Alumna Awards from both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College, where she serves on the Board of Trustees. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, composer and arranger Jay Althouse.
