About the Arranger: Lois Brownsey

Lois Brownsey and Marti Lunn Lantz have built a distinctive catalog of multicultural and seasonal choral works for Alfred over many years. Brownsey grew up in Philadelphia immersed in musical theatre and instrumental music, later collaborating with Lantz on compositions that celebrate diverse cultural traditions and the turning of seasons. Their partnership has produced numerous popular pieces including "Winter's Frost," "Japanese Snow Song," and "The Colors of Winter," as well as thematic song collections such as Celebrations around the World and The Wonders of the Earth.

Brownsey's musical journey spans live performance in pop, rock, and blues ensembles across the USA and internationally, work as a vocalist and bass player in clubs and concert settings, and commercial songwriting for national brands. She has co-written holiday and heritage material with Sally K. Albrecht and now operates Red Rock Recording Studios in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains alongside her husband, recording engineer Kent Heckman, where many Alfred projects come to life.
