About the Arranger: Mark Hayes

Mark Hayes

Mark Hayes has composed and arranged over 1,750 published works across concert music, choral literature, musical theater, and piano repertoire. A summa cum laude graduate of Baylor University's piano performance program, Hayes has conducted at Lincoln Center, the National Cathedral, and Carnegie Hall, and his sacred works including the Te Deum, Magnificat, and Gloria have been performed internationally. His Requiem received its world premiere at Lincoln Center in 2013 and was later conducted by Hayes himself at St. Ignatius Basilica in Rome as part of the Vatican-sponsored Festival Pro Musica E Arte Sacra.

Beyond choral and sacred music, Hayes has worked extensively in musical theater and film, orchestrating Madame Buttermilk and arranging scores for theatrical productions. He maintains a catalog of over 100 piano books in print spanning gospel, classical, jazz, and Broadway idioms. In 2010, Baylor University honored him with the Award for Exemplary Leadership in Christian Music. Hayes continues to compose and arrange from his home in Kansas City, Missouri.
