About the Arranger: Nick Baratta

Nick Baratta earned his BM in Music Education and Applied Percussion from The New England Conservatory in 1980, studying under Boston Symphony percussionists Frank Epstein and Vic Firth. For two decades he taught at West Genesee Central Schools in New York, where he directed the marching band to 30 state championships and served as Creative Director and arranger through the present day.

Baratta's arrangements and compositions have appeared at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, the Music Educators National Conference, Bands of America, and the Percussive Arts Society National Convention. He has served as All-State selector for percussion in New York and consulted with high schools on competitive marching band programming. His percussion ensemble works have been performed by ensembles at Eastman, the University of Utah, and Kent State University. Published by Alfred/Belwin since 1987, Baratta combines deep pedagogical experience with proven arranging craft.
