About the Composer: Robert Sheldon

Robert Sheldon stands among the most frequently performed composers writing for wind bands today. His works appear on contest and concert programs across the globe, and he has earned recognition from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and ASCAP for his distinctive voice and craftsmanship. Beyond composing, he served as lead author of Sound Innovations for Concert Band and maintains an active schedule as guest conductor for honor bands and clinician at universities and state music education conferences.

Sheldon's influence extends internationally. He has conducted his own compositions at Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and the Kennedy Center, and has worked with ensembles across the United States, Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, and China. VanderCook College of Music awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2020. He continues to accept commissions and release new band publications regularly.
