This collection serves Grade 2 cellists who are solidifying their reading skills and building technical fundamentals. It works equally well for younger students progressing steadily through their first year and older beginners catching up to grade-level material.

• Work through one study per practice session rather than racing through multiple pages. Consistency with a single piece pays dividends in reading fluency.
• Use the included CD as a reference tool, not a crutch. Listen once to internalize phrasing, then play without it to develop independence.
• Pay attention to bow distribution on longer note values. These studies often isolate specific technical demands, so treat each one as an opportunity to refine bow control.
