Vince Gassi brings twenty-five years of classroom experience to his compositions, having taught instrumental music at both elementary and secondary levels throughout the United States and Canada. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario and the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, Gassi earned his Ph.D. from York University in Toronto. His work as a guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician has shaped his understanding of what engages young musicians and what works in real rehearsal rooms.

With over 100 published titles since joining Alfred Music in 2006, Gassi has established himself as a composer whose pieces balance musical substance with accessibility. His workshops on creative engagement and digital workflows reflect his commitment to helping music directors develop both their students and their programs. His works appear regularly on concert and contest programs across North America, Europe, and Japan, and are frequently featured at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago.
