About the Composer: Kris Berg
Kris Berg directs the jazz studies program at Collin County Community College in Texas and holds degrees in jazz studies from the University of North Texas. His ensembles have earned repeated invitations to the Montreux Jazz Festival, and he founded both the Collin Jazz Fest and the Texas All-Star Jazz Camp.
Berg is a prolific composer and arranger whose charts circulate among jazz ensembles worldwide. His work appears regularly in the Belwin Jazz catalog, and he has written instructional materials including Bass Lines in Minutes. As a clinician for Yamaha Corporation, he performs alongside major jazz artists including Randy Brecker, Peter Erskine, Bob Mintzer, and Clark Terry.
