Why we love this
Notespeller 2A moves beyond passive recognition to active reinforcement. The systematic approach ensures students develop genuine fluency rather than guessing, and the integrated QR codes connecting to Premier Online Assistant videos mean you have built-in support for students who need a second explanation or parents working through material independently.
What to expect
Methodical and purposeful. Each page builds confidence through repetition and clear progression, never overwhelming with too many new concepts at once. The inclusion of video support transforms a standard workbook into an interactive learning experience where students can check their understanding immediately.
Who it's for
This workbook serves students actively working through Premier Piano Course Lesson Book 2A who need additional reinforcement in note reading and interval identification. It works equally well for homeschool piano students, group class participants, or private lesson students who benefit from supplemental written work.
How to get the most out of it
Have students complete the notespeller exercises in small chunks rather than all at once; three to five minutes daily builds retention better than cramming sessions.
Pair the written work with sight-reading from the Lesson Book 2A to create an immediate connection between identifying notes on paper and finding them on the keyboard.
Reference specific exercises when you notice recurring errors during lessons; nothing teaches like knowing exactly which interval or staff position confused them.
Encourage students to use the QR code videos as a resource before asking for help, building independence and giving you concrete data about where understanding breaks down.
How to use it
Assign pages alongside corresponding lessons in the 2A book rather than as busywork at the end of lessons. For homeschool families, this creates a complete self-contained curriculum when paired with the lesson book; for studio teachers, it extends learning between appointments without adding significant grading burden.
