Why we love this

This workbook does exactly what supplemental materials should: it catches weak reading skills before they compound into larger problems. The systematic pairing of written exercises with video support through QR codes means students can independently verify their understanding, reducing the likelihood that misconceptions persist through a lesson cycle.

What to expect

Straightforward and purposeful. Each page focuses on a single concept without distraction, allowing students to build confidence through repetition and clear visual organization. The inclusion of video support transforms a quiet workbook into an interactive learning tool.

Who it's for

This workbook is designed for early intermediate piano students working through Premier Piano Course Lesson Book 2A who need additional reinforcement in note and interval reading. It's equally valuable for independent learners, homeschooled students, and those in traditional studio settings who benefit from written practice outside of lesson time.

How to get the most out of it

  • Work through the note identification exercises first, before tackling interval work. This builds confidence and gives students a single focus per session.
  • Pair each written exercise with the corresponding QR code video immediately after completion. Students benefit from instant confirmation rather than waiting until the next lesson.
  • Assign exercises that reinforce what the student struggled with in the current week's lesson, rather than proceeding sequentially. This targeted approach saves time and deepens mastery.

How to use it

Assign pages weekly as homework to accompany Lesson Book 2A instruction, allowing students to practice note and interval reading independently between lessons. The QR code videos make this workbook particularly effective for homeschool curricula where additional teacher guidance may be limited.
