About the Composer: Dennis Alexander

Dennis Alexander has shaped music education for decades through his work with Alfred Music Publishing, beginning in 1986. A prolific composer with over 400 educational piano publications to his name, Alexander earned international recognition for his ability to write engaging, pedagogically sound music for students at every level. He spent 24 years teaching piano pedagogy at the University of Montana before moving to California, where he served on the faculties at Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge. His work as a clinician at state and national music teachers conventions, combined with commissions from organizations across the country, has made him a trusted voice in piano pedagogy.

Beyond the page, Alexander maintains an active performance schedule as a soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician. He has collaborated with internationally recognized artists and has performed recitals across Asia, the Middle East, and North America. His 1987 Carnegie Recital Hall debut marked the beginning of a sustained touring career alongside his composing work.
