About the Composer: Andy Beck

Andy Beck

Andy Beck leads choral publications at Alfred Music and has composed and arranged over 450 choral works, vocal resources, and children's musicals now in widespread use. His educational resources—including Sing at First Sight, Foundations in Choral Sight Singing, and Vocalize! 45 Vocal Warm-Ups That Teach Technique—shape how singers worldwide develop literacy and technique. Beck holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Ithaca College and a Master's degree in Music Education from Northwest Missouri State University.

Beyond his work as a composer and arranger, Beck is an active guest conductor, choreographer, adjudicator, and clinician for music educators and ensembles across the country. He has served as a commissioned composer and guest conductor for honor choirs at all levels, including all-state groups throughout the Southeast. A tenor singer himself, he has performed with the North Carolina Master Chorale Chamber Choir and has been an Alfred Music studio singer since 1992, bringing hands-on experience in both choral direction and musical theatre to every project he creates.
