About the Composer: William Owens

William Owens brings three decades of band directing experience to his compositional voice. A 1985 graduate of VanderCook College of Music, he has composed over 300 works for concert band, string orchestra, and small ensembles since 1993, establishing himself as a trusted voice in the young band repertoire. His music appears on festival and contest lists across North America and has been featured in music education texts.

Owens served as a band director in Texas for 30 years before retiring in 2014. He holds memberships in ASCAP, the Texas Music Educators Association, and Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity, and has received commissions from South Plains College, the American Bandmasters Association, and other prominent music organizations. He currently resides in Fort Worth, Texas.
