Dennis Alexander

Dennis Alexander has established himself as a cornerstone voice in educational piano composition since joining Alfred Music Publishing in 1986. With more than 400 published works and recordings to his name, he has shaped the learning experience of countless piano students across all levels. His career spans from early positions teaching piano pedagogy at the University of Montana (1972-1996) to faculty roles at California State universities, and he has maintained an active schedule as a recitalist, chamber musician, and clinician at major music teachers conventions.

Alexander's credentials extend well beyond the studio and classroom. He made his New York debut at Carnegie Recital Hall in 1987 and has performed as soloist and collaborative artist for internationally recognized musicians. His work has earned commissions from state associations and music organizations, and in recent years he has served as judge and clinician abroad, touring and teaching in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, and South Korea. He currently resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he continues composing and performing.
