About the Composer: Christine H. Barden
Christine H. Barden co-authored Alfred's Music for Little Mozarts, the foundational piano method that shapes early keyboard learning for thousands of students. A San Francisco State University graduate in piano performance, she studied under Vladimir Brenner of the NBC Symphony Orchestra and spent formative years in Europe performing and teaching. She later became one of the first American pianists to train with Yamaha Music Foundation instructors in Japan, eventually serving as Director of Curriculum and National Chief Instructor for the Yamaha Music Education System for 17 years.
Barden's work extends beyond curriculum design into award-winning compositions and dedicated studio teaching in Reno, Nevada, where she mentors prize-winning young pianists and leads Music for Little Mozarts preschool classes. Her educational leadership has taken her to conferences across the United States and internationally to England, Norway, and Singapore, where she guides teachers in early childhood music pedagogy.
