About the Artist: Scott Price

Scott Price

Scott Price is Professor of Piano and Piano Pedagogy at the University of South Carolina School of Music, where he also coordinates the piano pedagogy program. He holds degrees from the University of Oklahoma, The Cleveland Institute of Music, and Bowling Green State University, and has presented recitals and teaching workshops across the United States and throughout Asia, including Canada, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Dr. Price founded and directs the Carolina LifeSong Initiative, which provides piano instruction and musical experiences for students with special needs. He received the 2008 Music Teachers National Association Frances Clark Keyboard Pedagogy Award for his creation of Piano Pedagogy Forum, an online journal he edits. His recorded work includes 39 compact discs of educational piano music for Alfred Publishing Company, and he was named an MTNA Foundation Fellow in 2009 and received the 2012 Southeastern Conference Faculty Achievement Award.
