Jon Bubbett spent 26 years as the band director at Thompson High School in Alabaster, AL, building a distinguished career that spanned 38 years in music education. His contributions to the field earned him six NBA Citations of Excellence and the Phi Beta Mu Rho Chapter 2015 "Bandmaster of the Year" Award, recognizing his impact on students and the profession.

Now retired from full-time teaching, Bubbett remains deeply engaged as a clinician, composer, and adjudicator throughout Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. His compositions appear through multiple publishers including Belwin, Make Music, and Eighth Note Publishing. He is active in professional organizations including the National Band Association, Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity, and ASCAP, and currently conducts the Celebration Winds Community Concert Band.
