About the Composer: Sally K. Albrecht
Sally K. Albrecht has shaped choral music in American schools for over three decades, most recently as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications at Alfred Music. A conductor, clinician, and prolific composer with more than 600 published works to her name, she has guest conducted honor choirs at prestigious venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center. Since 1987, she has received the ASCAP Special Music Award annually, recognizing her consistent contributions to the field.
Albrecht's academic foundation spans music, drama, and accompanying, with degrees from Rollins College, the University of Miami, and teaching experience at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. Her collaborative partnership with composer Jay Althouse and her deep commitment to integrating movement with choral performance have become hallmarks of her pedagogical approach. In 2021, she received the Distinguished Alumna Award from both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College, where she serves on the Board of Trustees.
