Jack Wilds brings together a diverse range of influences to create music that speaks across generations and skill levels. His output spans from children's ensembles to professional orchestras, drawing inspiration from visual art, literature, and philosophical texts alongside purely musical traditions. His chamber works have been championed by ensembles including the Attacca Quartet and members of the New York Philharmonic and Atlanta Symphony.

As a former public school band director, Wilds understands what young musicians need to grow. He teaches composition, theory, ear training, and music technology at Texas State University and serves as Co-Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church in San Marcos. His works for developing musicians appear on festival required repertoire lists worldwide and have been performed at the Midwest Clinic and major educator conferences across the country.
