Timothy Loest has spent over thirty years teaching instrumental music in the classroom while building an international reputation as a composer. His works are performed by student ensembles worldwide, and his contributions to music education extend beyond the concert hall: he's collaborated on pedagogical methods including Measures of Success and Warm-ups and Beyond, shaped teaching approaches that reach thousands of students annually, and earned the Illinois Grade School Music Association's Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education in 2017.

Loest's compositions have appeared on network television programs including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America, reflecting the accessibility and craftsmanship that define his writing. A graduate of Illinois State University and Northwestern University, he founded Fanfare Music Press in 2022 to publish compositions and arrangements of the highest quality for bands at all levels. He regularly accepts commissions and maintains an active presence in both the classroom and the professional music world.
